Dr. Breanna O’Keefe, DO
Physician and Owner of Premier Primary Care and Wellness, PLLC
Dr. Breanna O’Keefe grew up locally in Mason, MI where the values of caring for neighbors and community were instilled. Since high school, she has abided by Aristotle’s words “We are what we do; therefore, excellence is not an action, but a habit”.
Her hard work led her to Olivet College, where Dr. O’Keefe was a collegiate athlete, stellar student, volunteer and club leader, in addition to working to put herself through school. She played soccer where her primary position was goalkeeper before switching to midfield after multiple shoulder injuries. In addition to playing for the Olivet Women’s Soccer Team, she also served as an Assistant Coach for a year.
After graduating as Valedictorian from Olivet in 2008, Dr. O’Keefe went onto Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine for her Doctorate.
Dr. O’Keefe stated, “I have always been a caregiver. I also have a huge love for science and a passion for problem solving and puzzles – figuring out how things fit together. Wanting to be and becoming a physician blends the two best parts of me.” She notes that she feels her calling is to help others and loves that she can do so in such a meaningful way.
Dr. O’Keefe has been a practicing physician for over 11 years. She completed her residency in Family Medicine and is board certified in both Family Medicine (Allopathic and Osteopathic) and Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy.
She is a humble individual that struggles to talk about herself and her accomplishments, but her loved ones were happy to provide additional information. One of her favorite shows is Golden Girls. Those of you that know the show will understand when Dr. O’Keefe’s loved ones describe her personality as the best parts of each character from the Golden Girls. “She has the kindness of Rose, sassiness of Sophia, wit of Dorothy and the confidence of Blanche.”
Dr. O’Keefe now lives in Grand Ledge, MI with her husband Patrick O’Keefe Jr. and their six children, two cats and dog. Faith, family and football are just a few pillars by which they live their lives. She enjoys working out, weight lifting, softball, bird watching, coaching her kids sports teams and skiing with the family. During the fall, when not attending their children’s sports, you can catch Dr. and Mr. O’Keefe at MSU and Notre Dame football games cheering on their alma maters.
